Charles H. Lanz, 69 yrs, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, OH. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Tuesday, January 4, 2011, from 11 AM until 9 PM. Services will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 AM. Pastor Harold Raymond, of Amazing Grace Baptist Church, Temperance, will officiate. Burial will be in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH.

Born October 23, 1941, in Toledo, Charles was the son of Clarence and Loreen (Smith) Lanz. He married Thelma Phillips, January 31, 1961, in Temperance. He was an Iron Worker, retiring in 2008, and had formerly owned Charles's Garage, and Freddie's Wood Products, both in Petersburg. He was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church, and Iron Workers Local 55, Toledo. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Charles is survived by: his wife, Thelma; sons, Todd (Lori), and Ryan (Kristen); a sister, Diane Peart; grandchildren, Ashley, Brooke, Gabriella, Tyler, Payton; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Sherry Reese.
