Dorothy J. Karm, 85 yrs, of Monroe, died Wednesday, September 15th, at Mercy Memorial Hospital where she had been for the last week. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Sunday, from 2-9 PM. She will lie in state Monday from 10-11 AM at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Dundee, where services will be at 11 AM. Pastor Annette Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery, Maybee.

Born December 5, 1926, in Toledo, Dorothy was the daughter of Fred and Elnora (Miller) Panck. A Dundee High School Graduate, she married Charles W. Karm September 25, 1948, in Dundee. He died December 26, 1985. Dorothy had been employed by Mercy Memorial Hospital as a bookkeeper from 1942 to 1948.

A member of St. John's Lutheran Church, she was a member of the Church Circle, Extension Club, Sunday School, Past President of the Church Women, and in her younger years she was a member of a Traveling Choir which sang throughout Monroe County.

Survivors include: sister, Alice Bryson, sons, Charles Karm, Jr, Harold Karm, Thomas Karm (and life partner John Dean); daughter, Christine (James) Budke; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
