Dorothy Mary Gere, 93 yrs, of Lulu, died Thursday in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe. Friends may call Saturday, December 4, from 10-11 AM, at West Ida Emmanuel Lutheran Church where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM. Diaconal Minister Mr. Timothy Freund and Rev. Ruth McCully, will officiate. Burial of Cremains will be in Lulu Cemetery.

Born January 4, 1917, in Britton, MI, Dorothy was the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth (Preedoh) Oberski. She married Charles William Gere February 29, 1936, in Samaria, MI. He died January 9, 1991. A homemaker, Dorothy was employed by the US Postal Service as a Courier for 14 yrs, retiring in 1952. She was a member of Lulu United Methodist Church and the Dundee Senior Citizens.

Survivors include: a son, Charles "Bill" Gere of Ida; a daughter, Mrs. Terry Ann (Carl) Benore, of Monroe; a brother, Theodore (Jewel) Oberski, of Ida; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Jan D. Gere, and a sister, Violet Milhan.
