Ruth E. Eipperle, 83 yrs, of Ida, died Friday, July 16th in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Sunday, from 1-8 PM. She will lie in state at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, Monday from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Pastor Ted Kerr will officiate. Cremation will follow. Burial of Cremains will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Ida, at a later date.

Born December 28, 1926, in Ida Twp, Ruth was the daughter of Emil and Hulda (Kaufman) Barkenquast. She married Lauren Eipperle in December of 1947, in St. Paul's Church, Toledo. She earned her Teaching Degree from Eastern Michigan in 1960 and her Masters in 1965. Ruth taught in the Ida Elementary School from 1956 thru 1990. Mrs. Eipperle was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, the MEA, MEAR, NEA, MARSP, and the Omicron Chapter of Sigma, Sigma, Sigma Sorority, and was listed in Who's Who Among Teachers in 1990. She was also an Ida Twp. Trustee from 1992 to 2004.

Surviving are: her husband of sixty-three years, Lauren; a daughter-in-law, Diane (Don) Winkelman, brother-in-law, Ray Zabawa; sister-in-law Marlene (Don) Bauer; grandchildren, Lance (Suzette) Eipperle, Dawn (Matt) Brodie, Mark Winkleman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Larry, sister, Mary Ellen Zabawa, and brother, Richard Barkenquast.
