Donald Park Trowbridge, 79 yrs, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, April 22nd in his home under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Sunday from 12 noon to 8PM. He will lie in state at Lulu United Methodist Church from 1 PM until services at 2 PM. Pastor Bonnie Frey will officiate. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery, Ida, Mi.

 

Born February 2, 1930, in Monroe, Michigan, Donald was the son of Orville Park and Katherine (Lutz) Trowbridge. He was a 1948 Ida High School Graduate.

 

He married Mona Patricia Verdon January 22, 1950 in Angola, Ohio. She died March 7, 1968. Don then married Carol (Doty) Montri August 17, 1976 in Lulu United Methodist Church.  She died November 17, 2008. He was co-owner and operator of Bud & Don's Implement in Ida from 1969 - 1986.  He also worked at the Ida Hardware and Tru-Value Hardware Store in Lamertville until he retired in 2005. Don was a former member of Ida Volunteer Fire Department and the Monroe County Civil Defense in the 1940's.

 

Survivors include: his son, Robert Trowbridge, of Crossville, Tenn., four step-sons, Larry (Brenda) Montri, of Monroe, David (Pamela) Montri, of Troy, Mi., Ronald (Brenda) Montri, of Monroe, Alan (Wendy) Montri, of Paso Robles Cal., daughter, Brenda Joseph of Crossville, Tenn., step-daughter Karen (Rob) Berta of Ida, brother, Gary (Helen) Trowbridge, sister, Barbara Simon of Dundee 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, a sister, Lois Charter, two daughters, Patricia E. Loshbough, and Virginia K. Tippit and a step-daughter Lisa VanWormer.

 

Memorial contributions for Mr.  Trowbridge may be make to the Ida Vol. Fire Dept. or Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
