Ernest E. "Honse" Schultz, 90 yrs, of Petersburg, died Monday night at Hickory Ridge of Temperance, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Thursday from 2 to 8 PM. He will lie in state at Summerfield Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Friday from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Pastor Albert Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.

Ernest was born December 28, 1918, in Ida Township, to Ferdinand "Tony" and Rose (Paepke) Schultz. He married Margaret Willard April 27, 1940, in St. Marks Lutheran Church, Ida. A Navy veteran, he was employed by Toledo Hydro-Matic for 34 yrs, retiring in October of 1976.

A Life member of Summerfield Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed, he was a charter member of the church's Dart Ball Team, and also played softball for the church, and was on the church council for many years. He loved to hunt and fish, and played baseball for the Federation League of Toledo, from 1940 to 1950. Honse was also a member of UAW Local 14, Toledo.

Survivors include: his wife Marge; a son, Thomas (Maria), of Petersburg; a sister. Catherine (Art) Libstroff, of Petersburg; grandchildren, Phillip, Laura, and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Katie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Sam, Bill, Albert, Edward, John, George, and Henry; and five sisters, Gertrude Rober, Hazel Schultz, Edna Bausman, Edith Leaper, Dolores Morey, and two infant siblings.
