Vincent P. Roth, 89 yrs, of Ida, died Friday, October 23rd. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Monday from 7-9 PM, and Tuesday from 1-8 PM, with a Rosary Service at 6 PM. He will lie in state at St. Joseph's Church, Ida, Wednesday from 10 AM until the Mass of Resurrection at 11 AM. Fr. Robert Bauer, of St. Patrick's Church, Carlton, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ida.

 

Born March 27, 1920, in Richland Co, IL, Vincent was the son of Martin and Ida (Hahn) Roth. A line worker for Tecumseh Products for 41 yrs, he married Grace Margaret Stewart, June 2, 1939, in Deerfield. She died July 21, 2003. He served with the US Army from 1944 to 1945 where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, and the Purple Heart. Vincent was a member of St. Joseph's Church, and worked on their fish dinners. He was also a member of the Lynn C. Weeman, American Legion Post 514, Ida, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Monroe Post 1138, and the Eagles, Aerie 197, Toledo.

 

Survivors include: a son, Daniel Kyme; three daughters, Anna Marie Janssens, Linda (James) Netcher, Joanne (Norman) Seegert; special friend, Joan E. White; a brother, Harold (Bettie) Roth; grandchildren, Jennifer, Ron, Cheryl, Joe, Richard, Rick, Angie, Tammy, and Fritz; great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Mitchell, Ariha, Rachel, Justin, Crystal, Lena, Nolie, Heather, and Kelsey. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson, Jeffery Janssens, three

sisters, and five brothers.
