John Jacob Rendle, 67, of Maumee, OH, formerly of Ottawa Lake, MI, died Friday afternoon, June 12th after a year long battle with brain cancer. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Tuesday, from 2-8 PM. Services will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 AM. Pastor Ted Kerr, of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, will officiate. Burial will be in Toledo Memorial Park.

 

Born April 26, 1942, in Toledo, he was the son of John C. and Viola "Jake" (Jacobs) Rendle. A 1960 Bedford High School Graduate, he earned an Associate's Degree in Engineering from Toledo University. On July 25, 1964, he married Sandra Sue Myers in Davison, MI. John was an engineering technologist in the Research Development Department of Ford Motor Co, Dearborn. In 1995, he retired after 30+ yrs of service. He also worked on the family farm all his life. John was a farmer, mechanic, technician, wrestler, football player, and loved to move large buildings. He was a teaser, Cub Scout Master, trumpet player, and loved musicals.

 

Survivors include: his wife, Sandra; his mother, Viola, of Lambertville; a son, John, of Maumee; a daughter, Shannon (Christopher) Rendle Frybarger, of Waterville, OH; three brothers, Jeffery (Marilyn), of Temperance, Edward (Mary), of Ottawa Lake, Blair (Diane), of Petersburg; and a sister, Phyllis (Randall) Germann, of Napoleon, OH. He was preceded in death by his father.
