Kris Herbert Rath, 51 yrs, of Dundee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 28, 2009, in Mio, MI, while on vacation. Kris was born February 20, 1958, in Monroe, a cherished son of Ted and Bernice (Heck) Rath, of Ida; a brother to Ken (Nan) Kehrer, Kevin (Brenda) Rath, Karl (Donna) Rath, Kay (Dave) Ringle, all of Monroe, Kathy (Ron) Iott, of Ida, Karen (Frank) Orick, of Knoxville, TN; an uncle to nineteen nieces and nephews and great-uncle to twenty-one great-nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by his many friends and his faithful and loyal companion, "Wilson"

A 1976 graduate of Dundee High School, Kris was an avid Michigan fan, and was known to host many "Go Blue" parties at his home, with anyone who shared his passion for the "Maize and Blue". He was particularly fond of the family cabin, where he spent most of his free time on weekends, enjoying being "up north", and making improvements to the cabin. Kris was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, a former member of the LMR Volunteer Fire Department, the Maybee Social Club, the church Dart Ball Team, and enjoyed NASCAR.

Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday, from 1-9 PM. He will lie in state Thursday, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Pastor Ted Kerr and Fr. Donald Geyman will co-officiate. Burial will be in Rath Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida.
