Joyce Marie Petee, 65 yrs, of Petersburg, died Monday, November 9th  at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-9 PM. Services will be at the funeral home Thursday at 11AM. Pastor Ted Kerr, of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.

Born June 18, 1944, in Temperance, Joyce was the daughter of William F. and Edith (Sortor) Hughes II. She was a graduate of Whiteford High School, and married Dennis Petee, February 23, 1963, in Petersburg. A home maker, she had been employed by George Vergote Greenhouse, in Riga, for 10 yrs, retiring in 2000.

Surviving are: her husband, Dennis; her mother, Edith Hughes, of Cadillac; her mother-in-law, Grace Petee, of Petersburg; two daughters, Dawn (Ken) Bogedain, of Petersburg, Darla (William) Schmidt, of Deerfield; a brother, James (Chris) Hughes, of Lambertville; two sisters, Beverly (Bill) Vermilyea, of Cadillac, MI, Pat Jacobs, of Lambertville; and five grandchildren, Heather, Ryan, Chelsea, Tiffany, and Brooke. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, William F. Hughes III.
