Thomas Alton Haman, 78 yrs, of Wixom, MI, died Monday, July 27th at Aberdeen Rehabilitaion and Skilled Nursing Center, Trenton. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday, from 12 Noon until 8 PM. Services will be at the funeral home Thursday at 11 AM. Pastor Ted Kerr, of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.

 

Born July 15, 1931, in Monroe, he was the son of Emil "Shorty" and Alberta (Oberlin) Haman. Thomas attended the Ida Public Schools. A Trim Repairman, he was employed by Ford Motor Co, Wixom, for 48 yrs. Mr. Haman was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Westland, the UAW Local 36, Wixom, where he held the office of Trustee and several other offices. He was also a former co-editor of the UAW Local paper. Thomas loved the Detroit Lions and Tigers.

 

Survivors include: two sons, Mark, of Westland, Kevin, of Plymouth; two daughters, Catherine Bee, of Flat Rock, Debbie Haman, of Staunton, VA; five brothers, Ronald "Dale" (Yvonne), and James, both of Monroe, Jack (Rosie), of Lambertville, Richard (Margie), of Flat Rock, and Donald (Sandy); five sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Riter, of Dundee, Carol J. Gongala, of Chicago, IL, Ruth A, Wagrin, of Ida, Dawn (John) Frankhouse, of Sterling Hts, MI, Tamara (Frank) Smith, of Maybee; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Emil G. and Ralph.
