Frances Lucille (Layman) Hagen, 86 yrs, formerly of Petersburg, died Sunday, December 13th, in Parkcliff Alzheimer's Home, Toledo. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday, from 3-7 PM. She will lie in state Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Petersburg, from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Pastor Mark Flory will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.

 

Frances was born December 12, 1923, in Monroe, MI, the daughter of Clarence and Josephine (Haman) Layman. A graduate of Petersburg High School, she married Wardell R. Hagen May 5, 1942 in Angola, IN. He died November 3, 1996. She and her husband owned and operated Hagen's TV, of Ida and Petersburg. Frances was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Petersburg, the North Cape Yacht Club, and served as Sail Camp Cook for three years. She enjoyed sailing, traveling and was a Summerfield Band and Athletic Booster during her children's school years.

 

Survivors include: her children, Christine Lyn Hagen Straub, Mark Wardell Hagen, Raymond Straub; her sisters, Naomi Cevora, of Monroe, Donna (Clifford) Nault, of Petersburg; grandchildren, Steven, Jeffery, and Ryan Straub, and Heather Hagen Gonzalez; and great-grandchildren, Elise, Phoenix and Zavier Straub, and Nolan and Gabriela Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Susan Kay Hagen.
