Norman "Larry" Gross, 67 yrs of Temperance, died Tuesday, July 21st,  in Petoskey, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Friday from 11 AM until 8 PM. He will lie in state at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Saturday from 10 AM until the Mass of Resurection at 11 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

Larry was born April 15, 1942, in Monroe, to Norman and Jennie (Hurley) Gross. An Ida High School Graduate, he married Vivian Clark April 24, 1965, in St. Joseph's Church, Ida. A Line Supervisor, he was employed by Ford Motor Co, Rawsonville, for 27 yrs. Larry was a singer and guitar player for St. Joseph's Church Choir for 25 yrs, and sang and played the keyboard and saxophone for the local band "Airborne" for 20 yrs. He also played saxophone and guitar for the local bands Sandstorm and Highlighters. Larry also delivered Meals on Wheels for RSVP.

 

Surviving are: his wife, Vivian; a son, Eric (Lisa), of Pinckney, MI; two daughters, Andrea (John) Glenn, of Temperance, Melanie Ortman, and her fiance Neil Rotledge; a sister, Judy (Bill) Reaume, of Ida; ten grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Memorial contributions for Mr. Gross may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
