Ervin Nelson Galdeen, 88 yrs, of Ida, died Monday morning, May 25th at his residence. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday from 1-8 PM. He will lie in state at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Temperance, Thursday from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Pastor Frank Paine will officiate. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery, Ida.
Born September 28, 1920, in Bowling Green, OH, he was the son of August and Mary (Bushnell) Galdeen. He married Dorothy Lucht December 26, 1943. Ervin served with the US Army from June 1944 to June 1946, seeing action in the Rhineland and Central Europe. Employed by Taylor Buick in the Auto Parts Department for 36 yrs, he retired September 28, 1982. Ervin was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, the Bedford Township Fire Department #2, for 22 yrs, and the Bedford Senior Citizens.
Surviving are: his wife, Dorothy; four sons, Robert (Alynda), of Lambertville, Melvin (Patricia), of Temperance, Joel (Patricia), of Travelers Rest, SC, Gale, of Ida; a daughter, Jeanne (John) Kanary, of Toledo; eleven grandchildren, Alucia, Danyelle, Tony, John, Pilita, Thomas Jr, Zakeary, Daniel, Jonathon, Alexia, Jessica; and five great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Desiree, Ainsley, Noah, and Zachary. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; his parents; three brothers, George, Owen, and Clifford; and a sister, Gertrude.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, or the American Diabetes Association.
