John F. Dziendziel, Jr, 62 years, of Ida, died Saturday at Regency Hospital, Toledo. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Monday from 12-9 PM. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home Tuesday at 11 AM. Pastor Ted Kerr, of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Ida.
Born December 9, 1947, in Detroit, John was the son of John and Dorothy (Slowik) Dziendziel, Sr. He served in the US Army from 1967 until 1969, and continued with the Army Reserve until 1973. John was a truck driver, and retired in 2000. He was a member of Lynn C. Weeman, American Legion Post 514, and a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1138, Monroe.
Survivors include: two sons, John "Johnny", of Ida, and Michael, of Erie; a daughter, Anna VanDyke, of Erie; two brothers, Michael "Mickey" (Vicki), of Lapeer, MI, Tim, of Westland, MI; a sister, Patricia (Bob) Sanders, of Melvindale, MI; and grandchildren, Brandon, Aaron, and Lexi VanDyke. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cathleen R. Dziendziel.
