Vera L. Cilley, 98 yrs, of Petersburg, MI, died Saturday, August 8th at Lynwood Manor, Adrian, while under the care of Hospice of Lenawee County. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Tuesday, from 2-9 PM. She will lie in state at St. Peters's Lutheran Church, Petersburg, Wednesday, from 12 Noon until Funeral Services at 1 PM. Pastor Mark Flory will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.

Mrs. Cilley was born August 14, 1910, in Dearborn, MI, to August (Gus) and Lydia (Miller) Haft. She married Irving W. Cilley October 7, 1939, in New Boston, MI. He died February 23, 1995. A homemaker, Vera also cleaned homes in the Milan and Ann Arbor areas for several years. She was a member of St. Peter's, the Women's Guild, the Dorcas Circle, and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Dundee and Petersburg Senior citizens, and loved gardening, baking, and her grandchildren.

Survivors include: three sons, Delmer (Carol), of Dundee, Leon and Irving A. (Dawn), both of Petersburg; a brother, Russell Haft, of Ann Arbor; a sister, Lucille Prest, of Ypsilanti; six grandchildren, Cheryl, Diane, Rachael, Melissa, Katlin, and Andrew; and four great-grandchildren, Holly, Kyle, Connor, and Carly. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Myron, a daughter in law, Lois, five brothers, Herbert, Ralph, Roy, Howard, and Clement; and two sisters, Edna and Jessie.

Memorial contributions for Mrs. Cilley may be made to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Hospice of Lenawee County.
