Catherine Francis (Carriere) Benecke, 92 yrs, of Titusville, FL, formerly of Petersburg, died December 22, 2009, at Saline Evangelical Home, Saline, MI. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive family and friends Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 10-11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church Ida, MI, where the Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Dr. Michael A. Woroniewicz will officiate. Burial of the Cremains will be at a later date in Pleasant View Cemetery Petersburg, Mi.

Born November 9, 1917, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Juranowitsch) Schampier. She married Henry Carriere October 23, 1937 in Detroit, Mi. He died in June, 1960. She married H. Ray Benecke August 31, 1962, in Titusville, FL. He died in May, 2006. She was a home maker and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Florida.

Survivors include: a son, Henry L. (Linda) Carriere, of Petersburg; a daughter, Carol (James) Adams, of Petersburg; a sister, Katherine Wright, of Southgate, MI; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a grandson, Mark Adams, and two brothers, Pete and Nick Kramer.

Memorial contributions for Mrs. Benecke may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society.
