Sarah E. "Sally" Bassinger, 76 yrs, of Monroe, died Thursday, November 5th, at her residence while under the care of Mercy-Memorial Hospice of Monroe. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Sunday from 1-8 PM. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home Monday at 11 AM. Rev. Paul Dickson will officiate. She will then be taken to Embser Funeral Home, Belmont, NY, for burial in Forrest Hills Cemetery, Saturday.

Born March 25, 1933, in Belmont, NY, Sarah was the daughter of Victor and Ruby (Farrin) Peterson. She attended the Baptist Bible College in Johnson City, NY and Beauticians School in Buffalo, NY and she owned her own ceramics shop. She married James Bassinger June 14, 1958, in Tonawanda, NY. "Sally" was a member of the Dundee Baptist Church, where she sang and played piano for the church. She was also a member of the Frenchtown Senior Citizens and loved working with children, family travel and ceramics.

Survivors include: her husband, James; two sons, Michael (Sheri), of Lambertville, Stephen, of Monroe; three daughters, Linda (David) Barker, of Toledo, Melanie (Kevin) Fanjoy, of CO, Carrie (Masa) Miyahama, of Monroe; two brothers, Carl, of Avoca, NY, Donald, of Wellsville, NY; a sister, June Harrington, of Belmont, NY; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Memorial contributions for Mrs. Bassinger may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
