Dwight Dale Bashaw, 89 yrs, of Petersburg, died at his residence Monday, March 30th while under the care of Heartland Hospice of Ann Arbor. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday from 11 AM until 7 PM. The Funeral Service will be at the funeral home Thursday at 11 AM. Pastor Don A. Brown, of Calvary Baptist Church, Dundee, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.
Born March 6, 1920, in Petersburg, Dale was the son of Henry and Ina (Peyton) Bashaw. A Summerfield High School Graduate, he was employed by Tecumseh Products for 35 yrs, retiring in 1975. He also served with the US Navy from 1944 to 1946, earning the World War II Victory Medal and the American Theater Medal. His memberships include the American Legion, Post 72, Dundee, the V.F.W. Post 6509, Petersburg, and Local 2935, Tecumseh.
Surviving are: two sons, Dale (Cheryl) and Dean, both of Petersburg; a daughter, Louise (Paul) Black, of Harrietta, MI, and Petersburg; a sister, Hazel Welsh, of CA; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three grandchildren, a step son, Ron Silveira, two brothers, Robert and Grant, and two sisters, Mildred and Ruth.
