Carol Louise Trowbridge, 85, of Petersburg died at 8:45 AM Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

 

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM Thursday at Capaul Funeral Home, Ida.

 

She will lie in state at Lulu United Methodist Church from Noon until time of services at 1 PM Friday. Pastor Bonnie Frey will officiate. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery.

 

She was born July 30, 1923, in the family house in Maybee, and was the daughter of Almon and Alice (Barnum) Doty. She was a 1941 graduate of Ida High School and married Al Montri on Feb. 27, 1943. She married Don Trowbridge on Aug. 17, 1968.

 

She worked at Ida Hardware and the Ida Post Office, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Lulu United Methodist Church and loved angels. She enjoyed reading, American History and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers.

 

She is survived by her husband Don, four sons, Larry (Brenda) Montri of Monroe, David (Pam) Montri of Troy, Ron (Brenda) Montri of Monroe, and Alan (Wendy) Montri of Paso Robles, CA, a daughter, Karen (Rob) Berta, of Ida, two step daughters, Brenda Joseph and Virgina Trowbridge of Crossville, TN, a step son Bob Trowbridge of Crossville, 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She also is survived by four sisters, Ione Parker, Veva Newcombe and Pat Hammond, all of Ida, and Janet Black of Bellville.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Lisa, and a step daughter Patricia.
