Bessie Marie Roe, 90 yrs, of Deerfield, passed away quietly Saturday evening, November 29  surrounded by all her children, to join her husband of 66 yrs who passed away this August. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 AM to 2 PM, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Deerfield. The Mass of Resurrection will be at 2 PM Tuesday, with Fr. Jack Loughran officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Deerfield. Arrangements are through Capaul Funeral Home, Ida.

 

Bessie was born August 14, 1918, in Azalia, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Tomek) Pospisil. She worked at University of Michigan Hospital as a nurses aide, and was also employed at the Willow Run Bomber Plant, Ypsilanti.

Elria Roe asked her to be his wife. They were married August 4, 1942, at St. Alphonsus. He died August 26, 2008. She was a member of St. Alphonsus, the Dundee Senior Citizens, and loved playing cards, bingo, and being with her grandchildren.

 

Survivors include: three sons, Raymond (Donna), of Deerfield, Richard (Cindy), of Sullivan, IL, Robert, of Plymouth, MI; a daughter, Donna (Robert) Ruswinkle, of Medina, OH; a sister, Frances Prybic, of Milan, MI; nine grandchildren Kevin, Jamie, Amy, Lori, Julie, Renaye, Ron,

Richard, and Ryan, and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a sister, Mary Tomek.

 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Dundee Senior Citizens, the Deerfield American Legion Post 392, or St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
