Imogene Dougherty, 92 yrs. of Ida, died Saturday morning, August 23, in her home under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe. Friends may call Tuesday, from 4-8 pm at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida.
Born January 22, 1916 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of Marshall and Martha (Mathews) Taylor. A 1934 graduate of Acton High School in Acton, Indiana, she served as a cook for Ida High School for 5 years, a member of the Bedford Senior Citizens, a Girl Scout and Brownie leader for Hopewell School, Toledo, Ohio and also was involved in the local Ida 4-H program.
She married Carl M. Dougherty, Nov. 20, 1936, in Greenwood, Indiana. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in 1998. Carl died January 26, 1999.
Survivors include: her son, Richard (Eileen) of Lambertville, MI., three daughters, Janet Keller of Toledo, OH, Judy (Robert) Abbott of Montpelier, OH and Betty (Larry) Nickel of Ida, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and a brother.
